I should like to say a special 'Thank you' to Mrs
Noel Austin, retired Infant Teacher of Sir Henry Fermor School, Crowborough for kindly taking several photographs
of our above Fermor tree at the school and
e-mailing them today - 4 September 2009.
The red horse-chestnut, a
much appreciated donation from Ray Fermor of Langley, Kent, was planted on
24 January 1995 with the help of pupils
Benjamin and Ruth Fermor.
We later added a suitably inscribed brass plaque to commemorate our first Fermor
Family Reunion which was held on 23 July 1994.
We should like to add another 'Thank you' to Mrs Noel
Austin, whose suggestion it was, on her retirement, to contribute the attractive seat now surrounding and helping to
protect our Fermor tree.
